    Old & Middle Irish Tales

    The Adventures of Nera

Perhaps the earliest Halloween story. Ailill dares his men to tie a loop around the ankle of a hanged man on Oiche shamhna and adventure ensues.

    The Taking of the Sid

Dagda Distributes the homes of the gods

    Lebor Gabala Erenn (Minigauld Version)

The Story of the Taking of Ireland in a somewhat condensed version. Has an interesting and early version of the "Fate of the Children of Tuireann" included within it.

    Fingen's Night-watch

Fingen speaks with Rothniamh regarding the wonders of that night, the crowing of Conn of the Hundred Battles. Mentions many gods, and also the prophecy of Lugh to Conn, though he goes unnamed or is called 'God'.
